Minutes of the January 20, 2020 Meeting at Mel’s Diner in Auburn, CA

President Ron Barker called the meeting to order. The meeting began at 8;38 a.m.

Invocation: Tony Chakurian led the invocation.

Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dale Ross.

SAR Pledge: The SAR Pledge was led by Dave Gilliard.

Guests

The guests at the January meeting were Conni Barker and Coreena Ross.

Approval of Meeting Minutes

Dave Gilliard made the motion to approve the November meeting minutes. Dale Ross seconded the motion for the minutes to be approved. The November meeting minutes were approved.

America 250 Minute Report

President Ron Barker gave the America 250 Minute Report. His report was on the Washington Spy Ring.

Dave Gilliard will do the February America 250 Minute Report.

Program

The program for the January meeting was Pain Management and it was presented by Eric Johnson.

Officer and Program Chapter Reports

President’s Report: President Ron Barker said they did the Wreaths Across America at both Auburn, California cemeteries.

Ron Barker also spoke about the upcoming Flag Ceremony that was going to happen on January 27^th, 2024 for the Emigrant Trail Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. The meeting is for the District ll Daughters of the American Revolution and it is going to be held at The Ridge Country Club in Auburn, California. The date of the ceremony is January 27^th, 2024.

First Vice President’s Report:  Mike Holmes is going to the First Vice President and there was no report given at the January meeting.

Second Vice President’s Report: Eric Johnson is going to be the Second Vice President and there was no report given.

Treasurer’s Report: President Dave Gilliard gave his report.

Secretary’s Report: There was no report given.

Chaplain’s Report: There was no report given.

Valley Forge Report: There was no report given.

Color Guard Report: Dale Ross spoke about the upcoming flag ceremony that will be held for Emigrant Trail Chapter N.S.D.A.R. and the District ll meeting Daughters of the American Revolution. The ceremony is going to be at the Ridge Country Club in Auburn, California and the date of the ceremony will be January 27^th, 2024.

The Gold Country Chapter N.S.S.A.R. participated in the Wreaths Across America program that was held at both of the Auburn Cemeteries in Auburn, California. The chapter also participated in the Wreaths Across America Program that was held in Grass Valley, California. The date of the Wreaths Across America Program on December 16^th, 2023.

Old Business

The Gold Country held the chapter elections at the January 20^th, 2024 meeting.

The Gold Country Chapter N.S.S.A.R. participated in the Wreaths Across America program that was held at both of the Auburn Cemeteries in Auburn, California. The chapter also participated in the Wreaths Across America Program that was held in Grass Valley, California. The date of the Wreaths Across America Program on December 16^th, 2023.

New Business

President Ron Barker spoke about getting guest speakers at the chapter meetings.

SAR Recessional and Benediction

SAR Recessional: Steve Hoss led the SAR Recessional.

Benediction: The benediction was led by Tony Chakurian.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 a.m.

The next meeting will be held at Mel’s Diner and the date is February 17^th, 2024.
